Our Roots Scholarship

Our story also begins in our roots.
The Our Roots Scholarship was created as an extension of the educational commitment led by CHL English Academy of the Americas and Lumina Social Empowerment Foundation TX.
In Houston, Texas, we began by offering the Our Story Scholarship, a program designed for migrants seeking to strengthen their opportunities through learning English.
Over time, we came to understand something deeply important:
many of those stories begin long before migration.
They begin in our communities, in our families, in our roots.
That is why the Our Roots Scholarship was created — an initiative directed toward people in Colombia, with the purpose of opening educational opportunities from the place where many stories truly begin.
We believe education does more than teach a language.
Education restores confidence, voice, and new possibilities.
What is the Our Roots Scholarship Program?
The Our Roots Scholarship is an educational initiative that provides access to English language learning for Colombian citizens seeking to strengthen their academic, professional, and personal opportunities.
Through this program, full and partial scholarships will be awarded based on the evaluation of each application.
The initiative seeks to expand educational opportunities, particularly for individuals in vulnerable situations, with a special focus on supporting women in strengthening their skills, autonomy, and opportunities for growth.
